Nelson Fonseca, a Partner at Medina Capital, is an accomplished operating executive that focuses on fundraising, investor relations and sourcing investment opportunities for the firm. His experience in building and managing highly successful organizations enables him to offer strategic advice and counsel to Medina Capital portfolio companies in the areas of operations, strategy, business development, mergers and acquisitions, international business, and government contracting.
Fonseca currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Cyxtera Technologies, a Medina Capital portfolio company. He also is a member of Cyxtera’s board of directors.
Background
Prior to joining Medina Capital, he served as the President of Verizon Terremark. During his tenure at Terremark from 2001 to 2012, Nelson held various positions including Chief Operating Officer, President of the U.S. Public Sector and VP of Sales. He started his professional career as an Engineer in the wireless network division at Nortel Networks and also held various business development positions at Telcordia Technologies, formerly Bellcore.
Education
Nelson received his Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Barry University and his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Miami.
